China-based Xiamen Airlines has selected a comprehensive package of Rockwell Collins’ avionics systems, including its Head-up Guidance System (HGS™), MultiScan™ Threat Detection System, GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR), and SATCOM for 12 new Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Deliveries will begin in 2014.

Rockwell Collins today announced that China Southern Airlines has selected a host of its avionics systems for 66 new aircraft, including Airbus A320s, Boeing 777s and Boeing Next-Generation 737s. Deliveries will begin this year.

Rockwell Collins and Beijing Bluesky Aviation Technology, an AVIC subsidiary, have signed a Memorandum of Agreement towards establishing a joint venture that will design, manufacture and market commercial aviation flight simulators. The venture will initially focus on airlines and aircraft manufacturers in China, with future plans to address the global commercial simulation and training market segment.

Rockwell Collins and China Leihua Electronic Technology Research Institute (LETRI), a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), today announced the formal incorporation and grand opening of their joint venture - AVIC Leihua Rockwell Collins Avionics Company. The new joint venture will initially develop, manufacture and deliver integrated surveillance system products for the C919 program in China.

Rockwell Collins recently conducted two live over-the-air tests of its Wideband High Frequency (WBHF) radio between Ottawa and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During the tests, the team was able to demonstrate streaming full-color video and ad hoc Internet Protocol networking over an HF link.

After several international trials, Rockwell Collins’ SubNet Relay (SNR) is now a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) standard. Subnet Relay has been ratified as NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 4691 for Mobile Ad-Hoc Relay Line-of-Sight IP Networking (MARLIN).
